We offer a seven day, 24 hour telephone line, offering
- information about alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, health and wellbeing,
- strategies for communicating
- coping strategies,
- help to manage change,
- help to avoid or manage crisis

Why do people use drugs?
There are a lot of reasons why people use alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. ADIS can provide you with support, information and referral if you have concerns about a family member, relative or friend.
These reasons may relate to stress, anxiety, job demands, emotional or behavioural management, self medication (trying to manage psychological symptoms), group behaviour, trauma, or habit, but are specific to each individual and hard to generalise.
